Mind-body practices with Sarah Atkinson
Saturday, June 13
9:00 AM–12:00 PM CST
Virtual Workshop (Zoom)
Limited to 6 participants
$65
A playful, grounded workshop exploring movement, creativity, nervous system awareness, and embodied expression.
Through gentle somatic practices, free-form movement, reflective prompts, sketching/journaling, and creative exploration, we’ll experiment with what becomes possible when awareness and expression coexist.
No dance, yoga, or artistic experience required.
This workshop blends modern somatics, meditation, yogic philosophy, creative reflection, and free-form movement into an experience centered on curiosity rather than performance.
Together, we’ll explore:
All practices are invitational.
There are no shapes to perfect and no right way to participate.
This workshop is informed by somatics, mindfulness, and yogic philosophy — but we will not be practicing traditional yoga poses or sequences. Instead, we’ll explore movement somatically through free-form, intuitive, and sensory-based practices.
What You Won’t Need
What We Will Explore
Movement throughout the workshop is exploratory and free-form rather than structured choreography or traditional yoga sequencing.
Some practices may feel:
If traditional yoga spaces have ever felt intimidating, rigid, or overly performance-focused, this workshop is intentionally designed differently.
At the same time, those expecting a conventional yoga flow class with formal postures and sequences may find this experience more creative, exploratory, and expressive than expected.
Camera shy? Feel free to turn your camera off during movement segments if it makes you feel more comfortable. Workshops are kept small to support conversation and comfort.
Explore grounding, tension, habit, protection, and the ways the body adapts to move through the world.
Through movement, reflection, and sensory awareness, we’ll notice where we brace, contain, grip, stabilize, or protect — not to judge these patterns, but to become curious about them.
Experiment with fluidity, responsiveness, emergence, release, and movement that unfolds without needing to be controlled.
Rather than trying to “do it right,” we’ll explore what happens when movement becomes a conversation with sensation, rhythm, imagination, and change.
All practices are invitational.
There are no shapes to perfect and no right way to participate.

In yogic philosophy, Līlā is often translated as “divine play” or “cosmic play.”
We’ll explore through the lens of Līlā, approaching movement and creativity through curiosity, experimentation, wonder, and participation rather than performance or perfection.
“What happens if I try this?”
“What do I notice?”
“What feels true right now?”
Comfortable clothing, water or tea, and a journal/sketchbook are encouraged but optional.
You do not need to be flexible, artistic, spiritual, or “good at dancing.”
Only willing to explore.
