Yoga Therapy for Nervous System Regulation, Stress Recovery, and Creative Expression

Breathwork & Pranayama

Discover how your breath can become a practical tool for calming the nervous system, improving resilience, and supporting everyday well-being.

Breathwork offers a personalized way to explore how conscious breathing can support your nervous system, attention, and overall well-being. Drawing from the yogic tradition of prāṇāyāma, contemporary breathing research, and yoga therapy, we’ll discover breathing practices that feel supportive, accessible, and appropriate for your unique goals.

Rather than striving to breathe in a particular way, these practices invite you to notice, experiment, and discover how different breathing patterns influence your body, mind, and overall experience.

Breathwork is one of several practices that may be incorporated into a personalized Mind-Body Session. Depending on your goals and preferences, your session may focus primarily on breathing practices or thoughtfully integrate breathwork alongside embodied movement, meditation, Yoga Nidra, sound, sensory experiences, Healing Touch, or other complementary mind-body approaches.

Every Mind-Body Session begins with you.

We’ll begin with a brief conversation about what brought you here and tailor the session to your goals and preferences.

What to Expect

Each Mind-Body Session begins with a brief conversation about your goals, questions, and any health considerations that may influence your experience. Together, we’ll create a personalized session using the practices that best support your intentions.

Depending on your intentions, your session may include one or more gentle breathing techniques selected to support relaxation, focus, nervous system regulation, or overall well-being. Practices may include: slow breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, coherent breathing, alternate nostril breathing, extended exhalation, or other evidence-informed approaches.

Throughout the session, we’ll explore how different breathing patterns affect your body and mind. You’ll also receive guidance on how to safely integrate these practices into everyday life.

No prior experience is necessary.

Why Breathwork?

Many people think of breathing as something that simply happens automatically. While that’s true, the breath is also a powerful bridge between the body and mind.

Breathwork offers an opportunity to explore gentle, evidence-informed practices in a supportive setting while discovering which approaches feel most comfortable and effective for you. These techniques can stand on their own or be combined with movement, meditation, Yoga Nidra, sound, or other mind-body practices as part of a personalized experience.

Breathwork & Pranayama

Breathwork is a broad term used to describe many different approaches to working with the breath. Pranayama is the traditional yogic practice of consciously regulating the breath to support balance, mental clarity, and meditation.

In my work, you’ll experience gentle, evidence-informed breathing practices inspired by both modern research and the yogic tradition of pranayama. The focus is not on intense breathing techniques or emotional catharsis, but on developing practical skills that support nervous system regulation, resilience, relaxation, and everyday well-being.
